Dinner-and-a-movie date night - such fun! Last night we visited one of the best casual restaurants in Charlottesville, VA before taking in a terrific movie (more about that later). With the unforgettable name of Revolutionary Soup or RevSoup, this small hole-in-the-wall eatery just off the downtown pedestrian mall has an amazing locavor menu. We both enjoyed a large Mediterranean tuna salad prepared with solid chunk white tuna, cherry tomatoes, black olives, crisp baby greens, and much more including a light oil and lemon juice house dressing. I chose for soup a delicious creamy butternut squash soup with a bare hint of nutmeg and cinnamon. Dick had a potato-rosemary soup - quite yummy.

The best description of who RevSoup is comes from its website -- "Fresh, local ingredients from organic, eco-friendly and sustainably maintained farms ...... unique, creative recipes based on classical preparations... add to this equation quick, friendly service in a casual atmosphere, and you have Revolutionary Soup!"

After this enjoyable dinner we walked across the street to the Regal movie theater to see The King's Speech, with Colin Firth. Amazing performances! Watch for it at the Academy Awards!
